SolarBright installs APsystems Microinverters in Sydney and across NSW in situations where we must overcome the limitations of standard string inverters.
APsystems rank number 2 in world market share among independent microinverter suppliers. Their powerful and cost effective microinverter solution offers highly efficient power inversion (DC to AC conversion) and easy to use monitoring to deliver reliable energy with higher yields than traditional string inverters.
Lead by strong R&D they continue to bring innovative and industry leading technology to microinverters.
One of the great features of the APsystems microinverters are their ability connect more than 1 solar panel per unit making them more cost effective compared to other microinverter solutions that require a microinverter for each solar panel in the array.
There are 3 main components in an APsystems solution – the microinverters and the free systems monitoring consisting of the ECU gateway and the EMA online monitoring:
All APsystems microinverter solutions installed by SolarBright include the free systems monitoring.
The APsystems Microinverters
The two APsystems microinverters that SolarBright install in our solutions are the YC600 and the QS1. All APsystems products are rigorously evaluated and tested at the factory and tracked in the field, and they are built to a 25-year design life.
Video Overview of the YC600 and QS1 Microinverters
YC600 Microinverter
The YC600 connects 2 solar panels per unit and is a single-phase grid tied micro inverter featuring intelligent networking, advanced monitoring and peak efficiency of 96.7%.
- Single unit connects 2 solar panels
- Will handle solar panel output range of 250 to 440Watts
- 10-years warranty for parts and labour + 5-years parts only

Why APsystem Microinverters?
POWERFUL
Compared to conventional string array solar systems APsystem microinverters maximise the power output of each panel, increasing the PV array efficiency by up to 20% resulting in increased power yield over the life of the solar system.
SMART
Every APsystems microinverter solar system installed by SolarBright includes the Energy Communication Unit (ECU), which is the information gateway for the system and gathers information from each APsystems microinverter in the system and the panels connected to it. The Energy Monitoring and Analysis (EMA) platform enables the monitoring and reporting of this information so you can track the output of every solar panel in the system on any device with a web browser
COST EFFECTIVE
With each APsystems microinverter connecting 2 or 4 solar panels instead of just 1 panel like standard microinverters, they are more cost effective. On a 6.6kW system this translates to savings of $1,800 for our customers.
SAFE
Each microinverter connects directly to the low-voltage DC solar panel which eliminates the chance of high-voltage arc fires, enhancing homeowner safety. They also include an integrated auto disconnection device.
APsystems Monitoring
The APsystems microinverters solution feature comprehensive information gathering and system monitoring through the advanced ECU (Energy Communication Unit) and the user-friendly EMA (Energy Monitoring and Analysis) platform and software.
Energy Communication Unit
This advanced APsystems ECU is the information gathering gateway and collects performance data from each installed microinverter and the solar panels connected to it. This data is transferred to a database on the internet in real time.
There are 2 models the ECU-R for residential installations and the ECU-C for commercial solar installations using APsystem microinverters.

Energy Monitoring and Analysis
The EMA software with a user-friendly interface, allows access to the data gathered by the ECU and enables full web-based monitoring of the system. With a normal string inverter, you cannot see or monitor the performance of each panel in the system – you can only see the performance of the whole string of panels. The APsystems EMA allows you drill down to the individual panel to monitor output and performance so you can identify any issues at a panel level and can optimise the system performance.
It will highlight and send alerts on performance and other issues if they arise. This can be accessed by any web browser enabled device such as a phone, tablet, or computer.
