Challenge
Stern Pools, one of Australia’s leading suppliers and installers of vinyl liner pools in Prestons, NSW, faced a common challenge: rising energy costs. As a growing company, their success led to an expansion of production capacity which increased manufacturing costs, particularly in energy.
With energy rates increasing annually, Stern Pools anticipated a significant rise in overhead costs and sought to address this issue before it becomes a financial burden.
Transformation
Here are the steps we took to help Stern Pools achieve energy self-reliance:
Assessment and Planning: We conducted a comprehensive assessment of Stern Pools’ energy consumption patterns and measure for available roof space. We found that they were spending over $22,000 annually on energy. With ample rood space, they had more than enough room for solar panels to meet their energy requirements.
System Design: Based on historical energy consumption and roof space, Stern Pools accepted our quote for 210 Max Power solar panels, each with a capacity of 440W, paired with two three-phase Sungrow inverters with a combined rating of 70kW. This setup not only meets their operational requirements but also generates excess energy to feed back to the grid, creating additional revenue.
Results: Stern Pools now consumers 70% of their energy from the solar system and earns extra revenue from the 30% of excess energy fed back to the grid.
Monitoring and maintenance: We maintain ongoing communication with Stern Pools to ensure the system operates at optimum capacity throughout the year, maximising their return on investment.
