Solar battery rebates remain available in 2026, although the way they are calculated changed from May 2026.
The rebate is now more closely linked to battery size. The first portion of battery capacity receives the highest rebate rate, while additional capacity above that level may still qualify for a rebate at a reduced rate.
This makes the SolaX Triple Power battery a strong option for homeowners because it can be configured in different sizes, instead of being limited to one fixed battery capacity.
From May 2026, the solar battery rebate is calculated using battery capacity tiers.
| Usable battery capacity | Rebate rate |
| 0 – 14kWh | 100% |
| 14 – 28kWh | 60% |
| 28 – 50kWh | 15% |
The first 14kWh of battery capacity receives the highest level of rebate support.
Capacity above 14kWh can still qualify for a rebate, although it is calculated at a lower rate.
The STC factor also changed in May 2026.
Earlier in 2026, the STC factor was 8.4. From May 2026 onwards, it reduced to 6.8.
| Period | STC factor |
| January – April 2026 | 8.4 |
| May – December 2026 | 6.8 |
This means the estimated rebate value is lower than it was at the beginning of 2026.
The rebate has not ended. It remains available for eligible solar batteries, but the value is now calculated using the updated STC factor.
The SolaX Triple Power battery uses 5.1kWh modules. This allows the system to be built in flexible capacity blocks to suit different homes.
Below is an estimated rebate guide for different SolaX Triple Power battery sizes.
| Number of battery modules | Battery capacity | Estimated rebate |
| 1 module | 5.1kWh | $1,484.10 |
| 2 modules | 10.2kWh | $3,011.85 |
| 3 modules | 15.3kWh | $4,365.00 |
| 4 modules | 20.4kWh | $5,281.65 |
| 5 modules | 25.5kWh | $6,198.30 |
| 6 modules | 30.6kWh | $6,722.10 |
| 7 modules | 35.7kWh | $6,984.00 |
| 8 modules | 40.8kWh | $7,202.25 |
| 9 modules | 45.9kWh | $7,420.50 |
These figures are estimates only.
The final rebate amount may vary based on the approved rebate calculation, installation date, battery configuration, STC value and system eligibility.
Use our Federal Government Battery Rebate Calculator to estimate your potential savings.
SolaX Triple Power batteries are modular, but the number of supported battery modules depends on the inverter type.
A Single Phase Hybrid system supports up to 8 battery modules.
A Three Phase Hybrid system supports up to 10 battery modules.
