Can I Buy Solar and Battery Packages Using the Home Energy Saver Loan?

Yes. If you’re a NSW homeowner, you can use the Home Energy Saver Loan to help finance eligible solar and battery packages from SolarBright.

Since the changes to the NSW battery incentives in May 2026, many homeowners have been asking whether they can combine the available solar battery rebates with the Home Energy Saver Loan. The answer is yes.

This means you can reduce the upfront cost of installing solar and solar battery storage by combining eligible government incentives with interest-free finance.

Who is eligible?

If you own a home in NSW, you may be eligible for:

  • Available solar and battery rebates and incentives.
  • The Home Energy Saver Loan, which can finance up to $15,000 towards an eligible installation.

The exact rebates available will depend on your system size and eligibility.

You can estimate your savings using our online calculators:

How does the Home Energy Saver Loan work?

Using the Home Energy Saver Loan with SolarBright is straightforward.

  1. Choose the solar and battery package that best suits your home and energy usage.
  2. We prepare a tailored quotation based on your property’s requirements.
  3. Your quote will already include all eligible rebates and incentives.
  4. You can finance up to $15,000 through the Home Energy Saver Loan. If your installation exceeds this amount, you’ll simply pay the remaining balance at the time of installation.

Installations over $20,000

SolarBright will guide you through this process and help ensure everything is completed correctly.

SolarBright will help you through the entire loan to installation process

SolaX Triple Power Battery Rebates in 2026

Solar battery rebates remain available in 2026, although the way they are calculated changed from May 2026.

The rebate is now more closely linked to battery size. The first portion of battery capacity receives the highest rebate rate, while additional capacity above that level may still qualify for a rebate at a reduced rate.

This makes the SolaX Triple Power battery a strong option for homeowners because it can be configured in different sizes, instead of being limited to one fixed battery capacity.

Battery Rebate Tiers

From May 2026, the solar battery rebate is calculated using battery capacity tiers.

Usable battery capacity Rebate rate
0 – 14kWh 100%
14 – 28kWh 60%
28 – 50kWh 15%

The first 14kWh of battery capacity receives the highest level of rebate support.

Capacity above 14kWh can still qualify for a rebate, although it is calculated at a lower rate.

STC Value Change

The STC factor also changed in May 2026.

Earlier in 2026, the STC factor was 8.4. From May 2026 onwards, it reduced to 6.8.

Period STC factor
January – April 2026 8.4
May – December 2026 6.8

This means the estimated rebate value is lower than it was at the beginning of 2026.

The rebate has not ended. It remains available for eligible solar batteries, but the value is now calculated using the updated STC factor.

SolaX Triple Power Battery Rebate Estimate

The SolaX Triple Power battery uses 5.1kWh modules. This allows the system to be built in flexible capacity blocks to suit different homes.

Below is an estimated rebate guide for different SolaX Triple Power battery sizes.

Number of battery modules Battery capacity Estimated rebate

2 modules 10.2kWh $3,011.85
3 modules 15.3kWh $4,365.00
4 modules 20.4kWh $5,281.65
5 modules 25.5kWh $6,198.30
6 modules 30.6kWh $6,722.10
7 modules 35.7kWh $6,984.00
8 modules 40.8kWh $7,202.25
9 modules 45.9kWh $7,420.50

These figures are estimates only.

The final rebate amount may vary based on the approved rebate calculation, installation date, battery configuration, STC value and system eligibility.
